Abstract Details
Purpose:
To present a clinical case of a toric trifocal intraocular lens implantations for a patient with a history of radial keratotomy.
Setting:
Both eyes underwent a radial keratotomy due to high-grade myopia 21 years ago. Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery with implantation of Alcon PanOptix Toric IOL was performed on both eyes. Before the surgery several variants of IOL calculation were performed using different keratometry data and different formulas.
Report of Case:
In 3 months after surgery distance visual acuity was equal to: 0,15/0,75. (LogMAR/Decimal), and 0,0/1,0 for medium and short distance, respectively. The deviation of IOL from the target axis was 1°.
Conclusion/Take Home Message:
Implantation of multifocal toric IOL for patients with corneal astigmatism after radial keratotomy can allow to obtain high visual functions. Radial keratotomy is not a contraindication for implantation of multifocal toric IOL.
