Abstract Details

Purpose:

To describe Our surgical Technique in bilateral IOL subluxation in a 53 yo patient by using iris Claw IOL.

Setting:

Report of Case:

Marfan syndrome is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder caused by the misfolding of the protein fibrillin-1 with ocular involvement. Lens abnormalities such as subluxation, and ectopia lentis are usually seen; they may be unilateral or bilateral. We present a 53 Years old Lady with bilateral Lens Subluxation. Marfan Syndorme was previosusly diagosed, The patient presented to our department for vision loss occurrini in the last 30 days in OU. BCVA was 0,6 LogMAR in OU, no other eye condition or systemic clinical condition where reported. Surgery was performed with IOL Extraction, 25 G infusion, triamcinolone anterior vitreous staining, anterior vitrectomy, and Iris Claw Lens implanted posteriorly in OD and 3 days later in OS with the same surgical technique. 30 days after surgery, sutures where removed and UCVA was 0,1 LogMAr in OO

Conclusion/Take Home Message:

Conclusion, Iris claw lens implanted posteriorly are a good option in Ectopia Lentis, and Subluxated lenses. With good postoperative vision quality.
