Abstract Details
Purpose:
To present clinical experience with new intraoperative OCT - Leica EnFocus 1 system
Setting:
.Department of Ophthalmology, Medical University of Warsaw, Poland
Methods:
.Leica EnFocus 1 is an intrasurgical spectral OCT integrated with surgical microscope. Aforementioned design allows for easy use during surgical procedure. Leica EnFocus comes in two options: EnFocus Ultra HD and EnFocus Ultra Deep. EnFocus UltraHD includes fine axial resolution ≤ 4 μm coupled with high OCT scan density The EnFocus Ultra-HD unfortunately like in the other intrasurgical OCT available on market, it produces strong image distortion when iris and deeper structures are visualized. Leica EnFocus Ultra-Deep OCT delivers very deep imaging, up to11 mm depth in tissue, what is extraordinary among others OCT’s, with > 20 mm scan length.
Results:
The lecture will focus on authors own experience with intraoperative use of both Leica EnFocus UltraHD and Leica EnFocus Ultra-Deep. Examples of intraoperative imaging acquired during anterior segment surgeries will be shown, including penetrating keratoplasty, endothelial keratoplasty, implantation of add-on intraocular lens, canaloplasty, and implantation of XEN gel-stent.
Conclusions:
Leica EnFocus UltraHD and Leica EnFocus Ultra-Deep allow to effective intraoperative evaluation of surgical procedures. It is valuable complement for operation theater instruments.
