Abstract Details
PURPOSE:Purpose:
To evaluate the long-term refractive outcomes in patients undergoing femtoLASIK with topography-guided ablation algorithms using the WaveLight® Refractive Suite.
Setting:
Eye Surgery Rascheskov, Kazan, Russia
Methods:
A retrospective 12 -month follow-up study was conducted of 300 eyes undergoing femtoLASIK. The WaveLight FS200 femtolaser EX500 excimer laser and treatment planning software were used. 150 eyes underwent Custom-Q ablation and 150 eyes underwent topography-guided ablation. Mean preoperative manifest refractive spherical equivalent (MRSE) was -4.9±3.45 diopters (D) (range: -12.125 to -1.875 D) in the Custom-Q group and -5.8±3.94 D (range: -12.875 to -1.875 D) in the topography-guided group. Eyes with cylinder more than 0.75 D were treated with cyclotorsia.
Results:
At 12 months postoperatively, mean MRSE was 0.08 D for the Custom-Q group and 0.07 for the topography-guided group. Stability was similar in both groups as were visual outcomes. No eyes lost 2 or more lines of BSCVA at 6 months postoperatively or later.
Conclusions:
Refractive outcomes were equivalent between eyes that underwent Custom-Q guided femtoLASIK and those that underwent topography-guided femtoLASIK. Both algorithms achieved good visual functions.
