Abstract Details
Purpose:
To compare measurements of corneal indices using Color Light-Emitting Diode corneal topographer and dual rotating Scheimpflug-Placido topographer.
Setting:
Prospective cross-sectional study, Department of Ophthalmology, Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, Seoul, Korea
Methods:
Sixty post-refractive surgery eyes and 60 normal eyes were evaluated. Anterior and posterior corneal power measurements were performed and compared using Color Light-Emitting Diode corneal topographer (Cassini) and dual rotating Scheimpflug-Placido topographer (Galilei G4). The paired t test, intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and Bland-Altman were used for statistics.
Results:
Both devices provided highly repeatable corneal measurements. The agreement levels of anterior keratometric values between 2 devices were higher than mean total corneal power (TCP) in both groups. (ICC>0.9) The ICC value for posterior keratometric values were lower than 0.9 in both groups.
Conclusions:
Anterior keratometric values obtained by 2 different devices showed high agreement levels, whereas TCP and posterior keratometric values showed lower agreement levels in both groups.
