Abstract Details

Purpose:

Analysis of the results of refractive lensectomy (RLE) with implantation of the Panoptix Toric IOL (Alcon) in patients with moderate amblyopia and myopia.

Setting:

Center of Eye Microsurgery VOKA, Minsk, Belarus

Methods:

Retrospective analysis of 5 cases of a RLE with implantation of Panoptix Toric IOL (Alcon) in patients with myopia and moderate ambliopia at the age of 35.0 ± 13.6 years. Uncorrected visual acuity (VA) before surgery 0.04 ± 0.02, best corrected VA 0.34 ± 0.05, refraction sph - 9.30 ± 3.14 min -2.75 D / max -14.0D; cyl – 2.95 ± 1.46 min 0 D / max -4.5D; corneal astigmatism: -2.11 ± 0.65; axial length 28.26 ± 1.40 mm min 25.0 mm / max 30.01 mm. TFNT30-TFNT60 were implanted.

Results:

The following results were obtained in 6 months after the surgery: uncorrected distance VA 0.48 ± 0.1, near VA 0.35 ± 0.15, middle distance VA 0.40 ± 0.05, refraction sph -0.30 ± 0.26; cyl 0.50 ± 0.20.

Conclusions:

An analysis of the results of refractive lensectomy with the Panoptix toric IOL implantation in patients with myopia and moderate amblyopia in 6 months after surgery showed an improvement in visual acuity and stabilization of the obtained refractive effect.
