Abstract Details

Purpose:

Compare the mean Keratometry measurements obtained using Swept-Source interferometry and the Verion Image-guided System. Compare the WtW measurements obtained using Swept-Source interferometry and the Verion Image Guided System Compare the measurements of corneal astigmatism obtained by Swept-Source interferometry vs Verion Image guided system Determine the level of agreement of both platforms for the measurement of Km (Bland-Altman)

Setting:

Asociación para evitar la Ceguera en México I.A.P.

Methods:

Study duration: 1 year. Study population: Cataract patients. Patients diagnosed with cataract will be previously evaluated by the same ophthalmologist, we will carry out a complete medical history, review under biomicroscopy. The IOL master 700 will be taken, and subsequently the keratometry 1, keratometry 2, mean keratometry, corneal astigmatism, white-white distance will be taken. Finally, we will take the image-guided system, and we will take the same variables as previously discussed.

Results:

A total of 116 patients with a mean age of 64.11 years with a range of (41-86 years) were included, of whom 55 (47.41%) were male and 61 (52.8%) female. we can convincingly affirm that regarding the following variables (Km, Kf, Ks, Cyl) we find a statistically significantly greater difference in the verion than in the IOL master 700, with this we can infer that both platforms have a low level of agreement. We are the first study to compare the white-to-white distance (WtW) between both platforms, as for this we did not find a statistically significant difference.

Conclusions:

Taking into account the results obtained in our study, we can mention that the verion tends to statistically significantly overestimate the levels of mean keratometry, flat keratometry, curved keratometry and cylinder. With this we conclude that the Verion is not inertchangeable with the IOL master 700 in the estimation of keratometries.
