Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the response of argon laser destruction of trematodal granulomatous anterior uveitis safe, easy and effective treatment.

Setting:

Sohag faculty of Medicine, Sohag University, Egypt

Methods:

Comparative study involving 40 eyes of 40 child with trematodal granulomatous anterior uveitis 20 eyes of 20 children treated by argon laser shots with power 300-400ml jol with time exposure 0.2-0.4 second with spot size 50-100 micrometer in two settings 3 days away followed by steroid therapy local and systemic compared to 20 eyes treated by medical treatment only.

Results:

Marked improvement noticed in group treated by laser with complete improvement during one month while group treated by medical treatment only persist for more than 3 months with maximum treatment.

Conclusions:

Argon laser treatment of trematodal granulomatous anterior uveitis is a safe, easy and effective treatment.
