Abstract Details

Purpose:

Estimated relationship between optical zone and pupil diameter in laser refractive surgery (LASEK).

Setting:

: Moshref chart: Pupil diameter: <3.0, 3.0-3.50, 3.50-4.00, 4.00-4.50, 4.50-5.00, 5.00-5.50, >5.50 Optical zone: 6.0, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 6.8, 7.0

Methods:

In this study of 200 patients, 100 patients had been treated according to (chart 1) and 100 patients had been done according to under formula: Pupil diameter + 1.50 – 2.00 min optical zone

Results:

Treated patients by above chart from 100 patients, 88 patients (88%) haven’t had problems with night vision and 12 patients (12%) have completed, but no one reported haziness and for follow-up during the year. But some patients had been assessed according to this formula (pupil diameter +1.5 -2.00), 67 patients haven’t had problems (67%) while 33 patients have experienced problems with night vision (33%) and 4 cases from patients had problems with haziness for follow-up in during the year that its important.

Conclusions:

At the end of this chart for laser refractive surgery (LASEK), we know better item that we called it “Moshref Chart”.
