Abstract Details

Purpose:

To show the results of Keratoconus cases that had ICRS, followed by T-ICL to correct their refractive errors.

Setting:

: MAGRABI Eye & Ear Hospiyal & Centers, Muscat-OMAN.

Methods:

4 eyes of 2 patients had ICRS as a primary method to regulate their keratoconic cornea. After stabilization of their cornea, Toric ICL was used to correct their refractive errors. Uncorrected spectacle visual acuity (UCVA), refraction, manifest refraction (MR) corneal topography and specular microscopy were done preoperatively as well as postoperatively.

Results:

One year results showed improvement of the best corrected visual acuity postoperatively as compared to preoperatively. Both patients gained at least one more line at their final result.

Conclusions:

Toric ICL after ICRS can be used in selected cases of Keratoconus. Both procedures are safe, effective and predictable in correcting refractive errors after regulating the keratoconic cornea. Patients were satisfied with their quantity as well as quality of vision.
