Purpose:
To evaluate the preloaded CT Asphina 509/MD system from Carl Zeiss Meditec , in term of safety, easy of insertion and post operative results.
Setting:
: The Dr Solomatin eye center and the Latvian university ophthalmology department
Methods:

Results:
All 70 eyes had smooth assembly of insertion system and intra-bag insertion of IOL. IOL’s had an excellent centration during all follow-up period. 12 month post-operatively, the UDVA (Snellen lines) was 1.0 or better in 65 eyes (92%).The CDVA improved by 1 line in 54 eyes (77%) and by 2 lines in 3 eyes (4%). Neither of operating eyes lost the lines. All eyes were within +/- 0,5 of the target refraction. There were no serious complications during follow-up period.
Conclusions:
