Purpose:
The aim of the study is to evaluate the visual outcome of the eyes implanted during cataract surgery with monofocal intraocular lenses AT Asphina 409M, Akreos AO and new model - enVista
Setting:
: Department of General Ophthalmology Clinic, Medical University of Lublin, Lublin, Poland
Methods:
45 eyes of the operated patients were classified to the study. They were divided into three groups. Group I, 15 eyes were implanted with AT Asphina 409M IOL. Second Group II, 15 eyes implanted with Akreos AO and third Group III of 15 eyes implanted with enVista. The studied parameters are the VA (far, intermediate and near, refraction ) modulation transfer and Point Spread Function , Strehl ratio were calculated for all intraocular lenses by Topcon wavefront analyzer
Results:
BCDVA and BCNVA did not differ in all groups. Wave-front analyze of the MTF and PSF values did not show the statistical significance difference between the groups of the patients. Strehl ratio did not differ in all of the groups and was in Group I 0,178 ± 0,10; Group II 0,156 ± 0,08; Group III 0,161 ± 0,09. The difference was not statistically significant.
Conclusions:
All monofocal lenses are able to restore distance vision and near vision with additional correction. No significant differences of visual outcome and MTF and Strehl ratio were find between the groups of IOL`s
