Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate safety , efficacy and predectability of intracorneal rings(ICR) implanted using femtosecond laser in post keratoplasty refractve errors

Setting:

: Cornea center alexandria egypt

Methods:

prospective non comparative clinical trial .patients were ICR implanted by femtosecond laser( VisuMax ,Carl Zeiss Meditec) 6 eyes of 6 patients.Uuncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) , best spectacle corrected visual acuity(BSCVA), manifest refraction and K value were measured in all cases.

Results:

All these parameters showed statistically significant change in the postoperative period. (p<0.01).Mean preoperative Uuncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) , best spectacle corrected visual acuity(BSCVA), corneal curvature( k readings) were 0.1 ,0.7 and 53 respectively Mean postoperative UCVA,BSCVA,K, 0.6,0.9,48. 1 eye failed implantation due to perforation

Conclusions:

ICR can be a safe and effective and reversible way to correct irregular astgmatim FINANCIAL INTEREST: ... receives consulting fees, retainer, or contract payments from a company producing, developing or supplying the product or procedure presented
