Purpose:
To report first experience with new preloaded hydrophylic acrylic IOL with different haptic design in case of routine cataract surgery.
Setting:
: Aurelios Augenzentrum Recklinghausen Germany, single surgeon study
Methods:
After uncomplicated routine phakoemulsification in the bag implantation of two different hydrohpylic acrylic IOL(Z-Flex 660 and Bi-Flex 677, Medicontur, Hungary) was performed with new preoladed system. Surgeons intraoperative experience and complications were recorded.
Results:
New preoladed injector worked well for both hydrophylic acrylic IOL. No difference between both IOL types was recorded. No complicaton reated to this new implantation system occured.
Conclusions:
The new preloaded hydrophylic acrylic IOL implantation system was safe ad userfriendly. Preoladed IOL are an important step towards increased safety during cataract surgery.
