Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate injection predictability and ease-of-use for the new and improved Aaren Scientific preloaded EC-1R HPI Adaptive™ aspheric intraocular lens using a three-step delivery system.

Setting:

: Centro Microchirurgia Ambulatoriale, Monza, Italy

Methods:

This is retrospective study of 31 eyes of 27 patients, 74,52 ± 6.71 years including functional and optical results at one year postoperative. Follow-up evaluations include uncorrected and best corrected visual acuity, slitlamp examination, an assessment of lens positioning and transparency

Results:

Preoperative BCVA was 0.68 ± 0,23 and 0.98 ± 0.05 one year after surgery. Preoperative SE was 0.39 ± 1.78 D and -0.06 ± 0.52 at one year. A video of the surgery will show lens implantation technique. Functional and optical results are good and meet expectations. IOL centration and stability are very good.

Conclusions:

The EC-1R HPI IOL provides easy-to-use and predictable injection through a four-step injection process. Excellent visual acuity outcomes with predictable results were achieved in early postoperative examinations. No complications were experienced with the new pre-loaded delivery system.
