Abstract Details

Purpose:

To report our clinical experience of Sulcoflex Piggyback IOLs for correcting residual refractive error in pseudophakic eyes.

Setting:

: All cases done by single surgeon and done at Ratan Jyoti Netralaya, Ophthalmic Institute & Research Centre

Methods:

A prospective interventional case series done at our centre includes 10 eyes of 10 patients who underwent Sulcoflex IOL implant through a 3mm temporal incision. In all the cases, pre and postoperative refractive status, specular count, and anterior chamber depth (ACD) was done.

Results:

Mean followup was 9.1 months (range 6-14), Mean age was 56.1 yrs. Mean preoperative ACD was 4.47mm. Mean pre and postoperative BCVA (logMAR) was 0.243 and 0.17 respectively. Mean preoperative spherical error and astigmatism (D) was 5.575 and 1.45 respectively. Mean postoperative spherical error and astigmatism was 0.1 and 1.02 respectively. Mean pre and postoperative specular count was 2654/sq.mm and 2598/sq.mm respectively.

Conclusions:

Sulcoflex IOLs appears to be safe and effective technique for correction of residual refractive error after cataract surgery FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
