Abstract Details

Purpose:

Subject of presentation are segments of surgery techniques performed in the department of eye trauma: 1. Pars Plana Vitrectomy in traumatized eye. 2. Phacoemulsification in post traumatic uveitic cataract 3. Urgent surgery of traumatized eye 4. Reconstruction of the traumatized eye

Setting:

Socioepidemiological profile of eye injuries during 1 year period at Eye Clinic, Clinical Center University of Sarajevo.

Methods:

Retrospective descriptive analysis admitted patients with severe eye injuries during 1 year period. Urgent surgery is very important in primary care of traumatized eye. In some number of cases in ocular trauma complications are: traumatic cataract, luxation of lens or IOL in vitreal cavity. In such cases anterior and posterior segment surgery is necessary as definitive eye care of patient. Video presentation show procedures of choice as: phaco traumatic cataract, luxated IOL , 20G PPV and other necessary procedures in primary surgery of traumatized eye. It also include video presentation secondary reconstruction of traumatized eye.

Results:

Total number of all eye injuries were 1664. Severe hospitalized eye injuries were 50. Postoperative results in performed cases were improved with satisfied reconstruction of eye globe and usefull rest VA without any significant complications at posterior segment.

Conclusions:

Performed procedures give satisfied postoperative results without any anterior and posterior segment complications are recommended choice of surgery FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
