Abstract Details

Purpose:

Analysis of refractive and visual outcomes after wavefront guided excimer laser treatment the iDesign System

Setting:

Dunya Eye Hospital

Methods:

Refractive surgery outcomes were evaluated in 32 myopic eyes with and without astigmatism after wavefront guided laser vision correction with the Star S4IR excimer laser, the iDesign system was used for treatment planning. High order aberration RMS and spherical aberrations were measured preoperatively and one month after the surgery for a 5 mm pupil size with the iDesign aberrometer according to standard 5 mm pupil size.

Results:

Results: 96,9% of eyes had a postoperative manifest spherical refraction between ±0,50 D and 100% had a spherical manifest refraction between ±0,75 D. 90,7 % of eyes had a postoperative manifest cylinder refraction within the range of ±0,50 D. Postoperatively in 87,5% of the Eyes, the Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) was more than 1,0 (Snellen Acuity Chart) . After one month there wasn’t a statistically significant change the HOA RMS (p:0,902) with respect to the preoperative values. On the other hand, there was decrease in spherical abberation (p:0,272).

Conclusions:

iDesign’s wavefront guided excimer treatment was found effective, safe and predictable. There was not induction of HOA and Spherical abaerrations decreased after treatment. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
