Purpose:
Purpose; to evaluate outcomes in patients with high myopia who underwent cataract surgery.
Setting:

Methods:
we treated 52 patients with dioptry range from – 6 to – 23 diopters ,( 30 women and 22 man) in last 2 years. Patients were examineted : visual aquity, tonometry , posterior pol with periphery of the retina . We measured IOL with IOL master and immersion biometry after pentacam was done.
Cataract surgery was done by one surgeon with the same chop- technic .
Congenital and systemic diseases were not included.
Results:
Results; Patients were more satisfied whit residual– 2 diopter after cataract surgery. More the myopic more the residual diopter is needed. Visual aquity ,20/20 we found in 6 patients, 20/40 in 28 patients, 20/60 in 18 .
Conclusions:
Pentacam and comparable biometry are necessary to define the residual diopter after cataract surgery.
Neuroadaptation is the most important factor after cataract surgery and implantation of IOL and depends from the age and profession of the patients.
