Abstract Details
Purpose:
The aim of the study was to analyse preoperative expectations and the postoperative outcomes of visual function in glaucoma patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Setting:
General hospital Zadar, Department of ophthalmology
University of Zadar
Methods:
The patients were surveyed and given Catquest 9SF questionaire prior the cataract surgery and one month later. Results were analysed.
Results:
Preoperative expectations were somewhere higher than the achieved postoperative outcomes the spite the fact that the patients were well informed and prepared preoperative.
Conclusions:
All the patients that underwent cataract surgery had some level of improvement, but lower than expected since the cataract was not the only condition causing visual disturbances.
